Annual Progressive Party and Luminaria

All neighbors are invited and encouraged to participate!

Luminaria sales will take place at 700 Yale in the carriage house from 1-4pm on Saturday, Dec. 13 and Sunday, Dec. 14. Sand, candles and bags will be sold in sets. This is also a perfect time to pay your $20 association dues, which help cover the cost of the event!

Here’s the schedule for the Progressive Party on the evening of December 14th:

5:30 – 6:30 PM: Appetizers at the first home

6:45 – 7:45 PM: Appetizers at the second home

8 – 9 PM: Dessert at City Hall

We need hosts to open their homes for one of the first two courses. The hosts provide some of the food and drink, but guests are also assigned to bring a contribution to one of the three courses. The Association will also provide some wine to the host houses. Guests are welcome to bring a bottle of wine along with their appetizer or dessert. If you haven’t hosted before, please consider it!

Please sign up by December 8th if you plan to participate.

Both hosts and guests should reply directly to Linda Ballard, linda.ballard@gmail.com. She will acknowledge your email within a couple of days – if you don’t hear from her, please resend your email or give her a call (314-863-8697) to be sure she has received your information. PLEASE DO NOT REPLY ON NEXTDOOR but directly to Linda. If you don’t use email, she can be reached by phone: 314-863-8697.

From HOSTS, we need the following information: Your name; the number of guests you can accommodate; whether or not children are welcome; your email address, street address and telephone number. If you offering to host, please let us know as soon as possible as it helps with the planning.

From both HOSTS AND GUESTS (hosts will also be guests for one of the courses and dessert), we need the following information: Your name; the number in your party; how many are children; your email address and telephone number.

The Progressive Party is a wonderful way to meet neighbors and connect with old friends. Couples, and their children, will be assigned together, but everyone else is assigned randomly. If you want to attend with a neighborhood friend, that’s fine, but we aren't able to keep a large group of friends together.

By Friday before the dinner, you should receive an email with the addresses of the two homes you will visit. You will be assigned a course to bring to one of the homes or be asked to bring a dessert to City Hall. Please let Linda Ballard know if you haven’t received an email by Saturday morning, December 13. If you sign up and for some reason are not able to attend, please inform your host and Linda Ballard immediately.

We hope to hear from everyone as soon as possible. If you are unable to tell us by December 8 that you want to participate, you may still attend the dessert course at City Hall, however, you will be expected to bring a dessert to share. We love homemade desserts!
